Strokemistakes

TIME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN STROKE TREATMENT

If Someone is Having a Stroke..
DONT MAKE THE FOLLOWING MISTAKES

1. Waiting for Things to Get Better
The earlier a stroke is treated, the better the chance of improvement
or a full recovery. The treatments available for stroke can only be
given soon after symptoms occur. Waiting is dangerous, and may make
   appropriate treatment impossible.

2. Calling Your Doctor
Calling your doctor and waiting for a return call introduces delay in
treatment. And your doctor may not recognize that these are stroke
symptoms, and direct you to their office, further delaying treatment.

3. Going to the Hospital by Car
It is well known that emergency departments handle patients
differently based on the way they arrive. Coming by ambulance gives a
person the greatest chance of being addressed immediately and
   directed to appropriate treatment.

4. Taking an Aspirin
Both types of strokes, both those caused by blood clots and those by
bleeding into the brain have the same symptoms. A person cannot know
what type of stroke they are suffering, and taking an aspirin may
   make things worse.
